NBC's Thursday Night Shuffle - THE FIRM Out; AWAKE In - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

NBC’s Thursday Night Shuffle – THE FIRM Out; AWAKE In

February 3, 2012 by

There’s hardly a move that NBC makes these days that doesn’t feel reactionary or even desperate. With another under-performing show to deal with NBC must once again jostle its Thursday night schedule in the hopes of regaining a glimpse of the ratings of yesteryear.

This time around it’s THE FIRM that has fallen victim to lack of eyeballs, and thus the law thriller is being moved to Saturday nights at 9pm (shudder) beginning on February 11th. NBC’s new show AWAKE, starring Kyle Killen and Jason Issacs will take over the Thursday at 10pm time slot starting on March 1st.

So what’s the deal with AWAKE?
Police detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs) regains consciousness following a car accident involving his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) and his son Rex (Dylan Minnette). Michael moves back and forth between two realities: in one, Rex survived while Hannah is dead; in the other, Hannah survived but Rex did not. Trying to keep both his loved ones alive, Michael starts living a “double life,” moving back and forth between the two realities, dealing with different personal conflicts and police partners. He also starts noticing strange links between the two realities

Check out the trailer for AWAKE.

I know I’ll be tuning in…you?

I’m sorry. As I was reading the description, I went from being awake to falling asleep. I already have Fringe, Alcatraz, and OUAT on my plate. I don’t need another show that moves in time or realities. Anyway…. by moving this show to this time slot, NBC effectively kill it.

@eridapo: Trust me, AWAKE is worth your time. I adore FRINGE, ALCATRAZ and OUAT, too, and the AWAKE pilot is up there with it. Seriously worth you at least checking it out.

Always glad to see Andre Braugher, but I wish they were bringing back Prime Suspect.
