CASTLE Sneak Peek Video: ‘The Blue Butterfly’

February 2, 2012 by

CASTLE’s “The Blue Butterfly” is nearly here!

And while Give Me My Remote will have some fun stuff for you closer to Monday’s episode airing, ABC has officially released a clip of a noir scene from the hour, so I couldn’t resist posting this little tease…

Um, is it bad that I cannot wait for this episode? It looks fantastic!

Just last night I swore off sneak peeks for good. I promised myself I was done with them because sometimes they give away too much. I was so resolved to avoid them at all costs. The second I saw this post on my Twitter feed, though, my resolve was done. I’m glad that this sneak peek was fun but didn’t give away the best scene of the whole episode (I’m looking at you, sneak peeks for “To Love and Die in LA” and “An Embarrassment of Bitches.”). This was just a taste and already this episode is deeeeeelicious.

I’m incredibly excited about this episode. Everyone looks fantastic! I love the whole noir theme. I especially love that this episode flashes from the present to Castle’s imagining of the events in the journal he finds. I was wondering if the whole 1947 story would be told solely in his mind as he reads the journal but I’m really happy to see that he seems to be telling the story to the crew. Beckett will, of course, know he’s imagining the two of them as the detective and gangster’s moll, so I’m hoping to see her get carried away by the romance, too.

Some people in the fandom are peeved, saying this is a waste of an episode, that if there is a kiss btwn Beckett and Castle’s alter egos it’ll be the writers’ way of screwing over the audience with a “fake kiss.” Whatever. This is going to be a fun, unique, and lovely episode. Plus, I think anything that gives both Beckett and Castle the chance to fantasize about themselves as a couple in love will inevitably lead to SOME interesting and possibly blush-worthy Caskett moments.

In conclusion, is it Monday yet???

Going into this episode I have no expectations. I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than highly disappointed.

It’s true some in the fandom are complaining that a kiss between Castle/Beckett’s alter egos is a cop out – which I have to say I agree with as it stands.
I don’t simply want to see two actors, who have tremendous chemistry, kiss or two characters I’m not invested in kiss ….. I want to see a real kiss between the two characters I’ve come to care about.

Also some in the fandom will take any ounce of the carrot Marlowe & Co. dish out – never complaining. Good for them but if I don’t like something or disagree with it I will speak on it. That doesn’t make me wrong or right – just makes it my opinion.

Shallow Note – Stana looks gorgeous. Hair and make-up is flawless.
