About Last Night…The Grammys

February 13, 2012 by

Sunday night featured a bunch of new scripted shows (ONCE UPON A TIME! THE WALKING DEAD! Fox’s Animation Domination!), but I was instead riveted to the hot mess that was the Grammys. This isn’t a music blog, but since they were on TV last night, I do have a few thoughts about what went down…

The best: Adele. Just absolutely stunning. Considering how sick she was, to hear her sound just as amazing as ever during her first live performance since her surgery was just such a relief. I’m normally not too fond when one artist or group sweeps the awards, but she deserved all the attention she got.

The worst: Oh, Nicki Minaj. I’m all for artists letting their freak flag fly, but that was a hot mess.

My personal WTF: Um, why were Foo Fighters put in a dance music tribute?

But I’m sure some of you were stronger than I was…what scripted shows did you watch? ONCE UPON A TIME? PAN AM? DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES?

I watched all of the ABC scripted shows and just flipped in and out of The Grammys.

Oddest thing on tv last night, Nicki Minaj notwithstanding, was the out-of-order and thus very jarring episode of Pan Am…but at least the confusion it brought also brought with it a certain former sexy ER doctor (hooray for more Goran Visnjic!)

Desperate Housewives had a few surprising and interesting returns.

Once Upon a Time continues to shine when it features Rumple and it was an interesting take on the Beauty and the Beast story…but Psych’s Buzz (as Gaston) wasn’t on long enough for my liking…now that was “the most dramatic rose ceremony ever” ABC! 😉
