About Last Night…AMERICAN IDOL, HAPPY ENDINGS and PSYCH

March 8, 2012 by

Not a lot on television last night, but let’s make the most of it!

The loss of Whitney Houston was undeniably a major blow to the music industry, but was giving the girls the task of singing her songs on AMERICAN IDOL really a smart move? How often in the past were contestants criticized for trying to take her on? There’s a reason why — most singers just can’t handle her. The good news? Jessica Sanchez’s version of “I Will Always Love You” was amazing. Most of the guys pulled off Stevie Wonder well. I just hope next week’s theme is more fair.

I wish every episode of HAPPY ENDINGS was as great as last night’s was. I almost always feel like I enjoy this show just slightly less than everyone else I know, but last night’s episode was fantastic. I want to take part of some sort of movie (or TV!) scavenger hunt/race with friends. And Jane? Kind of a badass. Loved her elaborate hoaxing on Brad.

Does any show do homages better than PSYCH? Adored their horror movie episode where Lassie was worried his new condo was haunted…it may have been my favorite episode of the season. (Though “Last Night Gus” was also pretty fantastic.) Oh, if Shawn could get off the idea of proposing to Juliet for a bit, that would be awesome; until he tells her the truth about his “abilities,” I have no desire to see the idea of marriage even broached.

I thought the exact same thing after watching “Happy Endings”…I would love to do a movie/tv themed urban scavenger hunt…preferably with Max & Penny! 😉
