Who Went Home on THE VOICE?

April 16, 2012 by

You know how much I hate eliminations? Yeah, well, THE VOICE tainted the joy of performance night by eliminating two contestants immediately — one person from Team Christina and one person from Team Blake.

So who went home?

Christina shocked everyone (at least everyone where I’m at) by saying goodbye to Jesse Campbell, who had just moved the audience with his performance of “Halo” (which he dedicated to his daughter).

As for Blake, he decided to unsave Jordis (America put her in the bottom 3 last time his team was up and he chose to keep her on) and so we lost her, too.

Um…anyone else shocked?!

Totally shocked about Jordis! She was great, and she looked so pretty (meanwhile, I was putting away my second row of Girl Scout Cookies).

Jesse’s performance didn’t translate very well on tv, I didn’t think. He sounded off, so I’m not as suprised that he is gone (based on tonight–obviously he has been great this season).

Thanks for the quick post, Marisa!

Yeah, I thought Team Blake had the hardest choice tonight. They were all solid. I was surprised by Jesse, because I just really don’t get Chris. Powerful opera voice, yes, but he always seems so bland to me… Maybe Christina didn’t think there was much else she could DO for Jesse. She kind of alluded to the ability to grow being a factor, and his opening WAS a bit off tonight, even though he then totally brought it. Still, unlike some of other talent shows, the exposure with The Voice it feels like regardless of winning or not THESE performers will be getting deals and working.

Yeah, Christina did sort of vaguely say that some people were better at taking coaching than others. Maybe she was just sick of it. Though that is total speculation, since I’ve heard nothing else about Jesse that would say he didn’t take advice 🙂 . And I agree, Chris is blah…not going to win the whole thing, I don’t think.

I think the other coaches were actually excited that Jesse and Jordis were eliminated–they were tough competition!
