ONCE UPON A TIME: Jane Espenson Teases ‘An Apple Red as Blood’

May 6, 2012 by

ONCE UPON A TIME’s first season is quickly coming to a close, and tonight’s penultimate episode, “An Apple Red as Blood” sure seems like it will be a doozy.

To try and get a little bit of insight about what we can expect from the hour, I asked Jane Espenson (who co-wrote the episode with David H. Goodman) what she could tease.

“The last time we checked in with Snow and Team Seven — as the fans are calling the dwarves — they were saying, we’re going to go get [Charming] out, we’re going to go do a big action sequence,” Espenson previewed. “So it looks to me like I’d look for a big action sequence between Snow White, Team Seven and maybe some other people.”

And while Snow hasn’t been shy about kicking butt in the past, it seems like she may surprise viewers with her actions in “An Apple Red as Blood.”

“We’ve seen Snow as this bandit who is likely to punch you in the head, but I say we go even beyond that,” Espenson teased. “What is she willing to do to get Charming back?”

Well, heck, I can’t wait to see whatever it is…

ONCE UPON A TIME airs Sundays at 8 PM on ABC. If you’ve missed anything, make sure to check out the official website!
