About Last Night…ONCE UPON A TIME and GCB

May 7, 2012 by

For me, Sunday night was all about surviving the NBA playoff game. (Go Lakers!) Once that was over, I did queue up a few ABC shows to wind down.

The closer we get to the ONCE UPON A TIME finale, the more I wonder what the heck these writers are going to do. At this point, it seems like it would take a magnificent stretch for most (if not all) of the characters to be made aware of the curse by the time next week’s season finale rolls around. And while that prospect greatly excites me, I’m very curious where they’ll take season 2 if my hunch ends up being correct. (And I’m so glad the townspeople ganging up on Regina ended up being a dream — it would have been terrible if ABC spoiled that.)

“Was she tall?” I loved that Carlene’s concern about her husband’s potential mistress on GCB was her height. (The woman was really his daughter, which I thought was predictable, but I am curious about the timing of his daughter’s conception versus the start of his relationship with Carlene.) I really enjoyed the ending to season 1, but I cannot tell you how frustrated I am that Amanda’s big season-closing kiss with the pastor was IN THE FREAKING PROMOS. Seriously, ABC? I mean, what the heck? There were enough things they could have conceivably teased in the promos and they chose to spoil the cliffhanger? Really? Ugh.

Everything else had to wait from last night. Which clearly was a great thing to do during sweeps, but I’m guessing sports fans understand. (I think I also may be putting off DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES because the fact that it is done for good next week is almost unfathomable.)
