BONES: Carla Gallo on the Sweets and Daisy Split, and When She’s Returning to the Show

October 15, 2012 by

There may not be a new episode of BONES tonight, but you guys won’t object to a little dish about what’s to come, right? (That’s what I thought.)

I caught up with Carla Gallo (Daisy) at the premiere carpet for AMERICAN HORROR STORY season 2, and fresh off her character’s split with Sweets, we had a lot to talk about.

Take a look at the video below to see her thoughts on the latest “Swaisy” collapse, how she found out about Sweets’ kiss with another woman, when she’ll return, and more…

BONES airs Mondays at 8 PM on Fox.

Good Daisy will be back that break up got me a little scared that she wouldn’t return but this clearly calms my fears 🙂 She is one of my favorite squinterns

Daisy was the most annoying intern on the show. I didn’t miss her at all. I’m sorry she’s coming back.

I can’t believe that everyone is siding with Sweets on this one… The way he broke up with her was maybe the jerkiest move after text break up. He lead her on with (many) proposals and four years later, he finally realizes that it’s going nowhere so he ends it when they’re about to move in together. As annoying as she can be, Daisy deserves way better than that.

I can’t think of a character I like less on TV. I genuinely don’t understand why the writers continually insist on bringing her back, she ruins the show for me to the point where I will actually change channels every time I hear her “nails on a chalkboard” voice. I cannot see any redeeming features to her – she’s alternately shallow, self-absorbed, oblivious, sycophantic, rude, and honestly – despite her constant assertions that she’s “brilliant”, does an impeccable impression of a dolt.

I just find her whole presence on the show so hard to credit. I mean, honestly – she’s been fired, what? Twice, three times now? Are we honestly expected to believe that a prestigious scientific institution like the Jeffersonian would continue to employ someone who couldn’t follow basic orders, inspired a combination of bemusement and irritation in everyone she met, and actually tampered with the evidence (f*cking rosewater, anyone?) for 4 years? Give me a break. She has almost no character development, no depth, no complexity… just the writers’ attempts to make us believe that the Jeffersonian had hired Barry Chuckles’ daughter for some reason.

And as cold as Sweets was in breaking up with her on the street, which I don’t contend, he scarcely “led her on” with “many” proposals. He proposed to her once. Then shortly after she sodded off to Indonesia without so much as telling him until she was about to go. She must have been planning it for some time, filling out applications, getting references, but didn’t tell the guy she was engaged to about it until she was practically on the plane. Why? Because as “cute” as you might find her, she is ultimately selfish. She put herself first when she wanted to go on the dig, and she put herself first when she came back and expected Sweets to be waiting for her like a good puppy. She didn’t see the breakup coming because she has no capacity to consider the feelings or desires of anyone else beyond how they directly affect her own.

I’m delighted they broke up, I just wish she was gone for good.

What are you guys talking about? This character is HILARIOUS!!!! omg, everytime she says something, i just laughed so hard! Sweets is just dumb to break up with her AGAIN, i mean, its so not realistic, they love each other, they’re about to go live together, they bought a place, and then BOOM, all of the sudden, goodbye, i don’t love you anymore… Daisy is sooo funny, her facial expression are unique and there is nothing wrong with her voice, sh’es just great. Every role Carla does, just cracks me up, like on Two Broke Girls when she played that “bitchy italian cupcake deisgner” omg FUNNY! Great actress, great personnlity, great character, nothing wrong about Daisy!

An idea, Daysi in a crazy moment kills Sweets and tries to get rid of the body…that way we solve 2 problems, get rid of Sweets and Daysi and a we get a good murder to investigate!

One of the worst mistakes the show ever made was killing off Mr. Nigel-Murray. I understand the actor left the show, but jeez … now he can’t come back, and Alphas just didn’t take off at all. Pretend his death was faked to draw out Broadsky and bring him back!! Lol!

Daisy is the most infuriating character ever written into a series. I could cheerfully murder her every time she opens her mouth.
