Even with Fox busy with baseball, Thursday night television is kind of a nightmare. A fantastically wonderful nightmare, but a nightmare nonetheless.

The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS
“The Re-Entry Minimization”
When Wolowitz returns from space, he doesn’t get the hero’s welcome he expected. Meanwhile, Game Night turns into a battle of the sexes.

The Vampire Diaries | 8pm on The CW
“Memorial”
Elena tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of becoming a vampire, and Stefan and Damon almost come to blows while arguing about what is best for her. Damon decides to help Elena in his own way and asks her not to tell Stefan. A stranger, Connor Jordan, arrives in town and begins questioning Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood. Connor’s actions quickly convince Stefan that they are dealing with a dangerous vampire hunter. Jeremy and Matt are surprised to see a girl they used to know, April, has returned to town and is enrolling at Mystic Falls High. At a town gathering, Elena comes close to losing control until Caroline steps in to help her. Finally, Damon confides his feelings to an unexpected friend.

Liz works to prove to Tracy that women are funny while simultaneously attempting to head off a meltdown from Jenna after some negative publicity. Jack tries out an unconventional dating strategy.

Reagan and Chris realize it has been months since their last night out and decide to paint the town with Ava and Jerry. Meanwhile, on Chris’ advice Scott tries his hand at dating again.

Cat and Tess discover that the victim tried to file a police report for an assault. Meanwhile, Cat seeks out Vincent’s help to decipher a medical paper found in her mother’s belongings, and J.T. worries that Cat’s visits to the warehouse loft leave Vincent vulnerable to discovery by Muirfield’s agents. Catherine encourages Vincent to help her investigate deeper into the Muirfield project, but when Vincent refuses, Cat investigates on her own, until her computer is wiped clean by a malicious virus. Tess tries her hand at dating again, but soon discovers that she’s unknowingly involved with a married man. Heather moves out of Cat’s apartment after growing uncomfortable with her sister’s quest for more answers about their mother’s death.

An STD outbreak amongst Pawnee seniors prompts Leslie to conduct a sex education class. Meanwhile, Ron helps Tom adjust to life without technology after his gadgets are taken away, and Ben and April meet Congressman Murray for the first time.

“Child Predator”
Sherlock and Watson consult on a child abduction case involving a serial killer who is nicknamed “The Balloon Man,” because he leaves a signature batch of balloons at each of his crime scenes.

Scandal | 10:02pm on ABC
“Hunting Season”
A paranoid government official drops a bombshell on Pope & Associates and even Olivia is caught off-guard with how high up this Scandal goes. Back at the office, unresolved questions about Quinn’s background create tension amongst the associates. Meanwhile, despite Cyrus’ best efforts to keep a lovesick President under control, things still manage to heat up between Fitz and Olivia when Olivia’s old flame returns.
