ARROW Ups Colton Haynes to Series Regular

Get ready for more Roy Harper on ARROW: reps for the show confirm that Colton Haynes (Roy) will be a series regular in the show’s upcoming second season. (He’ll remain recurring for the final batch of season 1 episodes.)
This news comes less than a month after Haynes made his ARROW debut. But with all the storylines he’s a part of (romance with Thea, potentially evolving into Speedy, etc.), it makes sense the ARROW producers would want to lock him down for the foreseeable future.

He seems redundant to me. How many sidekicks does he need? I would have been happy if the character “Diggle” had been named Roy Harper instead. And why they gave his (until now non-existent) spoiled brat sister the name Speedy I’ll never understand.
