While the Creative Arts Emmy winners got their time on stage to give their acceptance speeches (and you can watch the broadcast of the ceremony on FXX this Saturday), there’s always more to say, more light to shed on what it means to them, etc.

So, backstage, after their victories, many of the night’s winners talked with press…and they shared some lovely sentiments about the shows that got them an Emmy…

Bob Newhart (Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series, THE BIG BANG THEORY)

Newhart, who called THE BIG BANG THEORY "the best written show on television," admitted he was a bit nervous before he filmed his guest spot that when he made his entrance in the episode (as Professor Proton), the live studio audience wouldn't recognize him...and not only did they recognize him, but they gave him a standing ovation. Newhart noted that the standing ovation when he won his Emmy got the guest spot (his first Emmy ever!) threw him off: "I was totally unprepared for that," he told reporters backstage. "This is from your peers. So when they say, yeah, you're good, that means something."
