About Last Night…MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., SUPERNATURAL, PERSON OF INTEREST, and More

A busy night of television…let’s get down to it…

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: I’ve already complained about the non-stop alien mentions. At this point, all it’s doing for me is reminding me the one thing I’m invested in — what happened to Coulson — is something they’re not actually addressing. Put up (anything), or shut up.

Aside from that, I felt like there were good elements to the story, but combined they didn’t work together. I would have preferred if we focused more on either the Centipede plot or Skye’s backstory. The way it was structured just wasn’t compelling enough.

And with Skye’s parents’ info being confidential S.H.I.E.L.D. files, are we going to be getting a surprise paternity reveal for someone in the Marvel universe?

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE: I just freaking love this show so much. I love that Jake roped the entire team into helping him win the bet by bribing them with their paperwork being done (after his inspiring speech fell flat)…and you just know Holt was pleased by it all.

THE GOLDBERGS: Another comedy I’m just enjoying immensely…and also probably the sweetest show of the new season. I’m loving the end-of-episode musical moments, and the fact that Adam taped so much of his family’s life is making for genuinely moving moments of television. (Being able to show the person you love video proof of the little things you do to show your love? Ugh, it’s so sweet I’m smiling just thinking about it.)

THE VOICE: Um…what was that? Again, I’ve already expressed frustration over speeding past battles, but how utterly unmemorable. Here’s hoping the knockouts are better — and with the steal now in play there, too, that should be fun.

SUPERNATURAL: Castiel didn’t handle things so well on his own originally. I’m very curious what being kicked out of the MOL bunker will do to him. And poor Dean will get whiplash if Sam/Zeke keep changing personas mid-convo. But hey, having an angel communicate through Sam so far has been very helpful!

THE MINDY PROJECT: Much like Mindy, I seem to like Adam Pally’s character more apart from the other guys. Hmm…

PERSON OF INTEREST: Loved, loved, loved getting Shaw backstory, and starting to see a crack in her tough exterior. And I was wondering where Root was…apparently she was just biding her time to get to Shaw. Next week should be interesting… (And Carter? Bad. Ass.)
