When current SLEEPY HOLLOW guest star — and former FRINGE star — John Noble spoke with press last week to promote his guest spot in tonight’s episode, “The Sin Eater,” he had nothing but praise for his new costars, noting that his connection in particular with series star Tom Mison (Ichabod) was “special.” And when Mison had his time doing some promotion for the show, he had equally glowing words for Noble.

“It’s really remarkable,” Mison said on a conference call last week. “Our first scene together it’s just me and him sitting opposite each other at a table, and he came in and sat down and we did the scene, and I was quite surprised when someone shouted ‘cut,’ because I forgot that there were cameras and other people about the place; because when you’re acting with someone like John you just completely lose yourself in it. He’s mesmerizing. He’s brilliant…[he] will become a very, very important character in the series, and you’ll see why because he’s a savior.”

Another costar Mison was quick to praise was the actress behind Ichabod’s “leftenant,” Nicole Beharie (Abbie).

“It was instant,” Mison said of their chemistry, noting that it was apparent from their first screen test together. “I think we’re very similar actors. We both like to play with what the other actor gives us, and we both like to be generous with each other. We know that the good stuff, and what everyone refers to as chemistry, is actually generosity. We like to be generous with each other mainly — it’s nice to throw things at an actor and be excited and surprised by what they throw back, and so yes it was fairly instant, and we’d like exploring the scenes together rather than as two individuals. We like to do it as a team, and yes she’s as wonderful off-screen as she is on. It’s always a nice thing to find friends on a job, and I think I certainly have with her…working with Nicole is such a treat. I think that’s something that for the rest of my career I’ll look back on this job, and hold it in really high regard a bit, largely thanks to Nicole.”

SLEEPY HOLLOW airs Mondays at 9 PM on Fox.
