THE GOLDBERGS, SEAL TEAM, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS- “christmas wishlist” – With the holidays quickly approaching, Delilah struggles with telling Sophie and Danny about her pregnancy; and although Jon’s absence makes this time of year especially difficult, the gang comes together to help the Dixons embrace the Christmas spirit on the winter finale of “A Million Little Things,” WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. Let’s talk about Wednesday night TV!

THE GOLDBERGS: This was not the point of the episode, but my God, Beverly’s escalating Hannukah nights were hilarious. Who doesn’t want a pizza bar? Or snow cones? Or a popcorn cart?

I also loved that they incorporated a real phone number into the show. (If you haven’t called it/missed it last night, you should call 215-883-4400.) It’s great the series is this many years in and they’re still doing fun nods like that.

RIVERDALE: I really wish everything wasn’t tied to Hiram. The show isn’t fun when the big evils can be summed up with “Hiram is bad and is making everyone’s life difficult.”

I did enjoy getting to see the Jones family together. It’s crazy Jughead’s mother has barely been a presence in his life, especially given what’s been going on.

MODERN FAMILY: Oy, how are Mitch and Cam leaving kids everywhere?!

SEAL TEAM: Given how long they were trying to get Doza, his death felt a bit anticlimactic. I wonder if it’s going to come into play later…

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Okay, there’s a lot to discuss about the actual episode, but first (spoiler alert for the post-ep promo): heeeeeeey, Constance Zimmer is coming back! It felt way too weird for her to only have one line in the pilot.

Anyway. It feels like Delilah won’t be able to keep her baby daddy a secret for long. But I’m glad Gary knows that Maggie is getting her treatment. It feels like Jon and Ashley is another misdirect, but it’s also possible the writers felt this was a way to explain away/soften Eddie and Delilah’s affair? (They didn’t need to, really, but I could see it being a concern/network note.)
