SCHOOLED – “Lainey and Erica’s High School Reunion” – When her high school reunion is held at William Penn, Lainey tries to hide her teaching job from old classmates, pulling a “Romy and Michele” lie with the help of Erica Goldberg (Hayley Orrantia) and CB. Meanwhile, Mellor’s distraught to learn his star athlete alum, Ruben Amaro Jr. (Niko Guardado), sees Glascott as more of a mentor than Mellor on “Schooled,” airing WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

THE GOLDBERGS: Murray’s letter for Barry was so freaking sweet. He may call his kids name, but Murray loves his family so much.

Oh. My. God. The cooking shows were real. I love how many side-by-side videos we’re still getting of show footage with the real Adam Goldberg‘s childhood footage.

RIVERDALE: Look, I imagine it would have been an awkward cut, but having Luke Perry’s first line of the episode be, “FP Jones, as I live and breathe” was…a choice.

I’m glad Jughead knows his mother is up to no good; but, yikes, the Jones family living in the Coopers’ old home is going to be so weird/awkward.

SCHOOLED: Aww, Jeff and Erica are still together. (And in SCHOOLED time, Adam is in his 20s and practically married!)

It makes sense Lainey would be insecure about her job, but it was lovely that she realized it was nothing to be ashamed of—and Erica was around to give her a good pep talk. Plus, that Spice Girls number was fun.

WHISKEY CAVALIER: Man, I love this show. I also forgot to mention last week that the fact that it has an actual opening credit sequence delights me.

So, this is totally going to be a show where I want a new gadget every week, huh? I want a ring that can get me out of bad/dangerous situations!

As weird as it may sound, it feels like this was the real first taste of what the show is really like: the pilot sets up the show; the second episode had Bellamy Young, which was a big enough guest star—with ties to one of the regulars—that it almost feels like a special episode. This was just the show. And it was fun, with a great group dynamic and good banter. I really hope this one sticks around.
