JANE THE VIRGIN, WHISKEY CAVALIER

WHISKEY CAVALIER – “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” – The team heads to Europe for a mission to transport a dangerous prisoner for interrogation, who, much to their surprise, turns out to be Will’s corrupt former boss and ex-FBI director Alex Ollerman. Meanwhile, Jai helps organize a Secret Santa gift exchange for an off-season Spy Christmas on “Whiskey Cavalier,” airing WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!RIVERDALE: Oy, those drugged out kids. And how much will it mess up Archie that he may have accidentally killed a drugged up fighter?

JANE THE VIRGIN: The show did the best thing possible for the history of Michael and Jane’s relationship to give him amnesia. But there’s been a weird disconnect since he returned. Yes, he was gone four years, but…it wasn’t his choice. He wasn’t him. There was no way he could have made any of it easier for Jane. Jane, Rafael, and the people around them don’t need to be falling over themselves, but it’s odd how little sympathy there has been for the torture he went through, even if they think Jane shouldn’t uproot her life.

That’s not to say Rafael is wrong to feel insecure, etc.—his reasons are valid. And that final scene, while heartbreaking, was very valid. But his early meltdown, when he freaked out that Jane didn’t sign the divorce papers immediately in the aftermath of her presumed-dead husband regaining his memory felt so tone-deaf.

SEAL TEAM: I loved Clay’s talk with Lisa. They both needed it, and I’m so glad it made its impact on Lisa. As much as I miss her with the Bravo Team, I do hope she succeeds. (And that Clay is able to fully be back with the guys soon.)

It was fun to have Kristy Swanson on the show. She and David Boreanaz had great chemistry; I’m curious to see where it goes.

WHISKEY CAVALIER: I love holiday episodes, and the team celebrating a spy Christmas was hilarious.

I also really appreciated the show bringing back Alex Ollerman, who caused so much mayhem in the pilot. The show is airing a little out of order, but it still packed a punch as the team’s early takes on each other were outed (and secrets were revealed), but it also emphasized how much they’ve grown.

I’m also glad Ollerman wasn’t immediately taken out. I don’t know if he’ll be a season-long or a series-long

(Somehow a necklace made of the bullet Frankie shot Will with is both so perfect for them and weirdly romantic?! Ugh, I love this show.)
