Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

RIVERDALE: It was nice to see the kids think about prom and truly be kids for a few moments. It didn’t last—and people, outside of Cheryl, seemed way too breezy about prom queen??—but there were a few brief moments.

This is in no way Molly Ringwald’s fault, but every scene she was in, I was distracted, wondering how different it would have played out if Luke Perry hadn’t passed. But I’m very glad for the cast they didn’t shoe-horn in Fred’s death immediately.

(Also, I know ROCKY was why they played “Eye of the Tiger as Archie boxed, but that song still makes me think of SUPERNATURAL.)

SEAL TEAM: Oh boy, seeing video of Brett—especially immediately prior to his suicide—was rough. It was effective, but wow. I wish Clay had been able to be around his friends while he was dealing with the grief of losing Brett, but I’m glad we got to go through some of that with him.

The episode was called “Rock Bottom,” but it sure doesn’t feel like we’ve reached that yet…

I’m really glad Lisa got a win, though. It was deserved and a nice, isolated, bright spot.

WHISKEY CAVALIER: It was a good episode—and a great reminder that Will can be pretty freaking brutal. Despite the fun tone of the show, it was also a good way to reiterate the stakes of the show…they’re not just having fun solving crimes. And things get especially dangerous when someone you trust, someone who is now dating a member of the team, knows enough to press at a point that could have cracked everything.

Which is a bit of a long way to say, oh boy, Tina is in danger. If Will doesn’t kill her, someone else on that team will.
