Grey's Anatomy, Superstore, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

GREY’S ANATOMY – “Back in the Saddle” – The Grey Sloan doctors operate on a man who crashed into Maggie’s car as Owen, back from paternity leave, struggles with Tom’s new position. Outside the hospital, Meredith’s recent firing doesn’t stop her from diagnosing those around her. Plus, Richard and Alex start anew and it’s not easy. All the while, Jo readies herself to return to work, and Amelia has a new revelation in her relationship with Link, on an all-new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, OCT. 3 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

[The best thing on TV last night was the Dodgers winning their NLDS Game 1.]

GREY’S ANATOMY: Um, that Link and Amelia scene, where they discussed whether or not to go through with the pregnancy. It was supportive (without seeming overbearing) and so sweet (without being cheesy). One of my favorite couple scenes the show has ever done.

SUPERSTORE: Oh my God, Jerry attaching himself to Colton was hysterical. And did Jonah really eat an entire cake?!

And Mateo is free! I’m very curious how the show continues to keep him around if Cloud 9 can’t rehire him.

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: I truly don’t get the Katherine storyline. She abandoned her kid?!?! It feels like every bit of progress the show made with that character in season 1 was undone. I don’t care if she was pissed at Eddie, I don’t care if they never get back together; leaving your kid like that still feels unbelievably selfish.

MOM: Adam and Christy’s (platonic) relationship has long been one of my favorites, so it was actually fun watching the two butt heads…with Bonnie in the middle.

Also, damn Jaime Pressly! That was a bonkers-impressive workout.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: I really enjoyed Ariel Winter’s guest spot on the episode. It felt like it could have been very easy to go cheesy with a character like this, but she was just groundedly messy and dealing with a real trauma.

And, uh, that trauma-based therapy was a lot. Fascinating little character bites, but ouch.
