Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

AMERICAN IDOL: Oh my goodness, the kid who sang “Treasure” with the co-writer of the song playing on the piano was an absolutely brutal thing to watch? I was so horrified when the musician couldn’t even fake that he liked the performance.

Aliana Jester was my highlight of the episode. I’m really excited to see her journey on the series.

It’s crazy it’s already Hollywood Week time? And it’s also a little surreal to realize it’s entirely possible the season won’t actually play out in normal time thanks to the real-world events.

WESTWORLD: After so, so, so much time off, the writers had a lot to bite off in the premiere. Right now, it feels a bit akin to STAR WARS Episode 8, where all of the main characters were off on their own journeys. It won’t continue for the entire season—we’ve already seen footage of Maeve in the real world—but it feels like a fairly hard reboot.

Aaron Paul was a fun addition to the show; I’m curious to see how he interacts with “our” people, now that he’s collided with Dolores.

BOB’S BURGERS: Also really weird to see a St. Patrick’s Day episode given…everything. (In NO WAY their fault.)

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: Wow to the “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” cover. Wow, wow, wow.  Also really loved the cover of “Say My Name.” I don’t think the show will do this, but I almost wish they’d cease the triangle for now, because Simon needs to get himself together.

The technology about being able to place people’s names with cameras, etc., is so terrifying and has to be a year or two away from existing in real-life, right?

SUPERGIRL: Jeremiah’s death…came out of nowhere!

Nia was by far one of the best additions to the show last year, and I’m glad the series tackled the complications of her superhero journey. It shouldn’t be an issue to anyone, but sadly, we still live in a world where some people would treat her horribly. I hope she gets to be more actively forefront in the rest of this season’s episodes.

FAMILY GUY: I know the show can’t—or shouldn’t—do Stewie’s Big Adventure-type episodes every week, but every once in a while it’s fun to go back to what the show was in its earlier days, as he really just had the craziest ambitions.

THE ROOKIE: Oh my God, Tim got a dog. And I do enjoy when we learn more about his background.

Also, uh, of course Nolan’s job is stressful?? He’s a police officer. It would almost be more alarming if he wasn’t stressed about what he was doing.
