Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!PARKS AND RECREATION: Boy, is it still surreal that there was a new episode of PARKS AND RECREATION. It was emotional to see the credits again and not know what to expect.

It was lovely to see the characters interacting—with all due respect to the guest stars, only the Perd bit in the middle really, really worked for me—but, boy, that end. That end. I was teary-eyed or lightly crying for a number of moments, but full-on sobbed during “5,000 Candles in the Wind.” It wasn’t just the look back at something that was so important to the show (and Ben’s continued hatred of it), but seeing those people together again in a scripted capacity was never a thing I expected. What a joy.

And what a beautiful, unexpected gift that the episode was also about self-care, something that is very easy to overlook during these crazy times.

Also, the Paley special was also lovely. What a great hour-block that, basically, felt like a hug.
