AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Kenan Thompson Set as Guest Judge

Kenan Thompson will guest judge AMERICA’S GOT TALENT on Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19, NBC announced.

He’ll step in for Simon Cowell, who is still out recovering from a broken back. (Kelly Clarkson filled in last week, in the immediate aftermath of Cowell’s accident.)

Thompson has a long history with NBC. In addition to being on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE for the longest period of time as a cast member (which includes him nabbing an Emmy nod this year), he also has the upcoming series KENAN. The comedy “centers on a recently widowed host of Atlanta’s #2 morning show (Thompson), who struggles to balance his job and his young daughters despite all the ‘help’ he gets from his father-in-law (Don Johnson) and his brother/assistant/manager/house guest (Chris Redd).”
