THE BOYS: Jensen Ackles Joins Season 3

SUPERNATURAL’s Jensen Ackles has found his next gig: THE BOYS season 3.

“I keep wondering what I’ll do….when @cw_supernatural finally ends this year,” he wrote on Instagram. “Then it hit me.

In the video, Ackles looks at THE BOYS graphic novel, while “Soldier Boy” plays. The actor will indeed play Soldier Boy in the third season, Amazon confirms. Soldier is “the original Superhero. After Soldier Boy fought in World War II, he became the first super celebrity, and a mainstay of American culture for decades.”

The casting reunites Ackles with SUPERNATURAL creator Eric Kripke, who also created the television version of THE BOYS. “When I was a child, I had a crazy, impossible dream — to provide Jensen Ackles with gainful employment,” Kripke said in a statement. “I’m happy to say that dream has come true. Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the very first Superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of SUPERNATURAL to THE BOYS.”

This is the latest reunion for Kripke with his former stars. TIMELESS’ Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, and Malcolm Barrett are recurring on THE BOYS’ upcoming second season, while REVOLUTION and SUPERNATURAL players previously popped up in season 1.
