Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Well, that was an absolutely unfairly loaded group of contestants. The previous week, there were only a couple who were good/great, and many were…fine.

This group? Overwhelmingly excellent. Max Major was my personal favorite, because even with the subliminal message, HOW DID EVERYONE DRAW THOSE SMILING SUNS? That is still driving me crazy. And “Hallelujah” is an absolute gamble/overused song to sing on a competition show, but Cristina Rae was just fantastic.

The interesting thing about Simon Cowell not being there and the show not bringing in a guest judge means that when it comes to voting in the results show, they won’t be able to deflect and let the audience pick the final contestant moving forward…they’ll automatically be forced to choose their favorites.

LOVE ISLAND: Is it stupid to get invested in couples this early? Probably. Was I still sad to see cracks in Moira/James and Mackenzie/Connor in the second episode? Definitely. I’m glad James and Kierstan’s chemistry ended up being more editing-influenced than him really wavering. And I’m also glad Connor was able to get through to Mackenzie, who was upset he didn’t follow her after she cried. They…did just meet. Everyone handles emotions different.

But, boy, poor Justine is not having a good time at the villa so far. She’s probably safe right now, but I feel for her.
