Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

BIG BROTHER: Dani winning HOH primarily because so many players forfeited was hilarious. Her picking Kevin and David was predictable, but it’s going to be a fun, hot mess when at least one of them comes off the block thanks to David’s power. Ian, in theory, might get put up, if she truly wants to protect her alliance, but if not, she may finally take a real swing at Tyler.

LOVE ISLAND: Ohhhhhhhhhh, what a mess.I actually thought the single people would be immediately kicked out of the villa, so this is somehow better/worse than I expected.

Breaking it down by people who are left (BYE BYE MERCADES. WILL NOT MISS YOU):

  • Cely, you’re dumb. I get why she wants to trust Johnny, but he lied to her and she just trusted him without talking to the other boys about what went down in Casa Amor?! Okay.
  • Johnny, congrats on being the worst person in the villa. He didn’t just kiss Mercades, he was all over her. For multiple days, despite what he lied to Cely about. And then he kept pushing her to forgive him. Gross, gross, gross.
  • Moira…oy. She seemed happy to pick Aaron? They were cute? And then she freaked out she’s not in love yet?!?! Man, he seemed so supportive and kind about her freakout; I hope he’s as nice as he seems. (And Calvin now seems confused, which…double oy.)
  • I’m a little skeptical of Justine/Caleb, still. Despite my misgivings about their start, they seemed like the most solid couple in the episode…until Sher pointed out Caleb never told her her only wanted to be friends. And, yes, we saw Caleb said he would have ghosted her if they were in real life, but, uh, you’re living together now? Be an adult and tell Sher the truth if the door is really closed.
  • The Kierstan and Carrington re-split was awful. They should have been the ones with the least amount of drama since they ended their villa time deciding to be friends, but then she was devastated he brought back someone new?
  • I felt genuinely bad for Connor. He was the one guy who seemed to keep his head down in Casa Amor, and he’s the one who got hurt the most by the situation. I am curious what Mackenzie would have done if she knew Connor hadn’t strayed at all during their time apart. We saw her having some doubts about Jalen’s commitment to her and given how awful the Kierstan situation, I can’t imagine anyone with doubts would have wanted to risk that. And then on their first day together, Jalen a) seemingly didn’t spend any 1:1 time with Mackenzie (when they were just barely getting to know each other) and b) seemed set to pursue Kierstan? Yikes. Going to be a mess.
  • Team Gus. May he win all the money.
