Stumptown canceled

STUMPTOWN – “Forget it Dex, It’s Stumptown.” – Dex Parios – a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of – works as a PI in Portland, Oregon. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own, finding herself at odds with the police and in the firing line of criminals, on the series premiere of “Stumptown,” WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (ABC/Mitch Haaseth)

Months after the show was renewed, ABC has reversed course and canceled STUMPTOWN due to timing and scheduling needs, Give Me My Remote has confirmed. Deadline was first to report the news.

The Cobie Smulders-led series was renewed for a sophomore season in May, with Monica Owusu-Breen joining as the new showrunner over the summer. The drama, which was inspired by the graphic novel by the same name, also starred Michael Ealy, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, and Camryn Manheim.

According to Deadline, ABC Signature, the studio behind the series, will shop it elsewhere.

Is CoronaVirus affecting the heads of TV Networks too?
So many BAD TV shows still going… And one of the good ones is cancelled…
    It’s so depressing…
