Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: Look, there is so much we could talk about, but all I want to talk about is Act 5. The show had expressed the difficulties of Zoey’s intimate moments getting interrupted by heartsongs, but A) how absolutely perfect that Max was seeing someone—albeit, someone probably a bit sketchy—to try and control his thoughts during a moment he knew was big for them and B) holy crap the scene?!

How did I never realize I needed a mashup of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and “A Moment Like This”? (Okay, and “I’ll Make Love To You” was perfect for the scene, but baseball+Kelly Clarkson is absolutely one of my unknown dream combos.) The scene was perfectly funny, touching, emotional, and rewarding on a storyline level. I love this show.

PRODIGAL SON: Speaking of shows I love…I missed this wonderfully weird show. I missed Malcolm and Martin. Gil and Jessica broke my heart.

But, wow, JT. Frank Harts’ performance when JT was profiled by a fellow officer was gut-wrenching. So many procedurals have had to reckon with the calls for police reform, and it could have made sense, on paper if PRODIGAL SON hadn’t wanted to deal with it. (After all, the sole COVID comment was the hilarious line about Martin stopping it from being a problem in jail.) But with a cast this diverse, I’m so glad they’re tackling it—and how the writers opted to go about it. (For more on PRODIGAL SON’s premiere.)

NURSES: Well, anyone else want to just protect Grace? I get she’s a grown-up, but ouuuuuch. And Ashley was put in an awful position. Eesh.

But, on a lighter note, loved Wolf’s storyline.
