ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST, PRODIGAL SON, FBI: MOST WANTED

“Anonymous” – The team searches for a young woman who is heading down a deadly path of vengeance, using ties to an online radical conspiracy organization to further her cause. Also, Barnes must make a life-changing decision, finding it hard to not let the dark side of her job affect her, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Jan. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: I wish I enjoyed this episode more. In many ways, this episode felt like it would have been better suited for the premiere…grief is in no way linear, but everyone was so miserable—both within and out of the family—it just felt absolutely bleak. The Zoey and Max breakup isn’t the end of the world for me (I love them, but I do expect them to reunite relatively soon/it’s a break vs. a bad split), but they had like five minutes together. And I’m personally enjoying Jenna, but I felt really bad for Emily and David that they can’t get rid of her because they’re afraid of upsetting Maggie.

But I could be alone in this. My favorite part was the ANNIE tribute, which at least made me laugh.

PRODIGAL SON: Bright having to perform an exorcism was so perfectly bonkers. The case was fun, and I’m curious what kind of trouble Martin will wind up in with his new prison pal.

But, man, the JT stuff continues to break my heart. I’m so glad Gil is willing to fight for him, but this isn’t easy and I don’t know how they get out of it in a way that feels even remotely decent for JT. (For more on JT’s struggles, here’s what Frank Harts had to say.)

NURSES: It breaks my heart—but also made me want to hug—Grace for putting herself between Nazneen and Dr. Hamilton. (But the nurses all dancing it out at the end made me happy and miss GREY’S.)

FBI: MOST WANTED: Man, I love Jess and Sheryll’s friendships so much. I appreciated so much of the case was the two of them working it—though, uh, how long is Clinton actually going to be gone for, episode-wise?—and them talking out her hesitancy to have a second kid was lovely.
