THE SIMPSONS, THE EQUALIZER, THE ROOKIE

THE SIMPSONS: Bart finds his old teacher’s diary and learns a surprising secret. Then, Lisa discovers an even bigger surprise in the “Diary Queen” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Feb. 14 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Guest voice Marcia Wallace. Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

CHERRIES WILD: What a weird show. It was fun, but I kept thinking about how much harder it has to be to actually win. It’s not like it’s entirely dependent on your skills, you have to really hope it’s not pre-set so you have to get X spins before you can win, etc.

BATWOMAN: Well, the Ryan and Luke scene was lovely.

THE SIMPSONS: It’s been so many years since Marcia Wallace died, I honestly thought we got all the closure we were going to get. But this episode was so sweet. The relationship between Bart and Mrs. K had always been love/hate—with clear disdain, but also true moments where their bond was evident and it was clear they cared for each other. For him to find her diary—and for us to hear Wallace’s voice—was such a treat.

AMERICAN IDOL: Siblings Liahona and Ammon were probably my favorites of the night. I wasn’t as in on some of the contestants they were falling over themselves about, but it was a solid group of contestants.

THE EQUALIZER: I loved seeing Dante and Robyn work together, and I’m really curious how long they can play with this dynamic. I don’t think it needs to be rushed at all, but at what point dos Dante understandably insist on knowing more/realize she has help?

THE GREAT NORTH: I know it’s early, but this was one of my favorite episodes of TV this year so far. It was so sweet! And nerdy! Wolf and Honeybee are so precious.

BOB’S BURGERS: The impromptu fancy pop-up was so cute. But, hey, at the end of the night, I loved that it ended up being burgers for all.

FAMILY GUY: Aw, it was sweet that Brian really connected with his date’s kid. I doubt we’ll see him post-this episode, but it was lovely it ended with him being his babysitter. (And the bird is, always, the word.)

THE ROOKIE: Lucy is a badass. Now and always.

I’m really glad the show went back to Tim’s actions with his ex-wife, because it was another sign of police misconduct. It can’t really be undone at this point, but at least it was acknowledged it’s not good and he didn’t repeat his mistakes when his friend was going down the same path.
