ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: Andrew Leeds Previews David’s New Gig

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST gets an unexpected dose of music when the show returns on Sunday, March 28: David (Andrew Leeds) joins a band!

“I join a garage band, in a very, very sad, exciting, pathetic way,” Leeds told reporters in the video below. “But yeah, that’s interesting—there’s actually music in the show in a completely organic way. But it’s nice to see the some music come into the show…that’s not a heart song.”

While the band may be finding their footing, they get a big showcase soon. “In episode 8, we get to see them performing at a gig at Zoey’s birthday,” Leeds previews. “So, it’s pretty fun.”

But it’s not all fun and games. “It was really challenging, because I had to also learn how to play the keyboard, exactly as [they needed],” Leeds admits. “They pre-recorded somebody playing the keyboard not that well, like off the rhythm, so I had to learn how to play exactly off of the rhythm. Which was very difficult; challenging. And I’m sure none of it will end up on the screen, but they were very concerned that I played it exactly right!”
