With the LAW & ORDER franchise officially crossing over in the May 13 block, the shows will revisit a lingering plot thread from SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT season 21: the death of Olivia’s (Mariska Hargitay) brother, Simon (Michael Weston).

At the time, Simon and Olivia reconnected after years of estrangement, and he assured his half-sister that he was clean. However, he missed a planned meet-up and she later discovered he had fatally overdosed. (The duo share a biological father, Joe, whose rape of Olivia’s mother led to her conception; Olivia discovered Simon existed—and her father’s identity—back in season 8.)

But in the crossover hours, Olivia suspects there was more to Simon’s death than she originally suspected—and recruits her former partner, Elliot (Christopher Meloni) to help, since it could be tied to his investigation of Richard Wheatley (Dylan McDermott).

On SVU’s “Trick-Rolled at the Moulin” (which airs at 9/8c), “The SVU search for three women suspected of drugging and robbing wealthy men. The case leads to personal connections for both Benson and Kat.” In addition to Meloni guesting in the hour, former SVU star Tamara Tunie returns and Nicola Rossi guest stars.

And then the night concludes with ORGANIZED CRIME’s “An Inferior Product” (at 10/9c), as “Stabler faces the consequences of a failed drug bust. Bell is forced to choose between the job and her family. Gina gets an unexpected visitor.” The hour guest stars Hargitay and SVU star Demore Barnes.

The plan to tie Simon’s death to the newest L&O spinoff ORGANIZED CRIME had been in the works for over a year.

“We were going to revisit Simon’s seeming overdose and get to know the stressors on the Stabler family,” SVU showrunner Warren Leight previously revealed of the intended season 21 finale. “What had happened to the Stabler family after Elliot both left SVU and apparently left them? We were going to lay some groundwork down in anticipation of Elliot’s return, of course, with his own series. We had the sense that the first episode of next year was going to bring Elliot back. We were going to foreshadow that and kind of explain a little more of what happened to [Olivia’s dead brother] Simon.”

To be honest I want Eliot and Olivia to get
together romantically already. It’s still sad that Olivia’s brother had died I had wished he had met Eliot he would of love him. Anyway Eliot and Olivia’s relationship between them is more that just chemistry between them they truly love each other as something more than friendship.

Give us plot twists and less giveaways let the culprits be who we son’t expect it to be and let the so called agitators be a hero or eventually be a good guy or gal.

Wish this season was not coming to an end so quickly. I know Covid heavily impacted production of both SVU and OC. It feels like the seasons just started. I want a ton of plot twists and no more teasers or trailers. Heck, don’t even tell us who’s guest starring. Remember ER? George Clooney was a pleasant surprise for the loyal fans. They kept his return totally secret. I could hear the legions of fans cheering while I watched in Puerto Rico. In this age of too much information, a little restraint goes a long way.

It is way past time for Elliott and Liv to get together watch the show for 22 years and always wanted this for them. The old fans want them together but the new fans don’t know the history. Love both of them and both shows ❤hope they get together soon before they are in wheelchairs ❤
