GHOSTS, GREY'S ANATOMY, LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME

GREY’S ANATOMY – “Some Kind of Tomorrow” – Meredith seeks advice from Amelia. Meanwhile, Richard is reenergized as he takes teaching to a new level at the hospital, and Winston treats a patient suffering from kidney failure on a new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, OCT. 7 (9:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (ABC)
PETER GALLAGHER, CATERINA SCORSONE, ELLEN POMPEO

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: Olivia Benson is an absolute badass, but I really hope her fighting back isn’t used against her. Obviously it’s worth it, obviously she would think it’s worth it, but as she noted, she’s not done fighting and working. And McGrath…he doesn’t seem like he’ll put up with her standing up for herself for long. (Also, holy inappropriateness from her doctor? It’s one thing if Olivia was not physically fit to return, but implying she should take the money and run because policing changed? Uh…did McGrath want to send a message? Otherwise, just entirely inappropriate.)

We’re also now 4/4 in terms of episodes this season where SVU was screwed by TPTB/outside forces…

GHOSTS: Man, I love this show. On paper, it could have been absolutely ridiculous, but it was the perfect mix of (literally) laugh out loud funny and also wildly charming? I love it. (And if you haven’t given it a try, please watch.)

GREY’S ANATOMY: There are so many parallels to the early seasons!! (The competition! Watching someone do a first solo surgery!) I know it’s been going on this season—and the promo for next week also had another notable season 1 homage—and I’m intrigued to see how (or if) it is ultimately paid off.

I’m so curious how Meredith having a part-time job elsewhere will work. I’m glad she realized she can’t exactly upend her entire life and move (at the very least, she has kids in school and a familial support system in Seattle, so she would have to really figure out the logistics), but this still feels like a big change. The same goes for Amelia, whose ties to Seattle are even more complicated given her estrangement with Link. Mess! (I AM glad we get more Peter Gallagher in this show, though.)

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME: Look at Elliot Stabler, using flip phones to get evidence like it’s 2008 all over again!!! (Also, um, should we be worried about whether there are cameras inside Flutura and Albi’s home?)

Seriously, though, I’m worried about Elliot. It’s understandable how many emotional and physical lines he’s had to cross while undercover, but it’s taking its toll on him. (And oh my God, if the first thing Elliot does when he gets out of this UC op isn’t immediately going back into therapy, I hope Bell benches him until he realizes he needs it.)

As we get a bit deeper into this arc, I do hope we see a bit more about the impact of the operation on Bell. We’re getting little glimpses (and we got a lot more with Nova last week), but this has to be hard on her given how recently Gina died while UC.
