CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE, ADELE ONE NIGHT ONLY, THE ROOKIE

CBS revealed an extended preview and first look of the exclusive Oprah interview in ADELE ONE NIGHT ONLY, a new primetime special that will be broadcast Sunday, Nov. 14 (8:30-10:31 PM, ET/8:00-10:01 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: It was an ambitious two-parter, and the points I appreciated the most were the ones that directly played into it being an episode of TV: the chapter titles, fast-forwarding the explainer monologue, etc. I feel like this is an arc I may actually appreciate a bit more with time/space/multiple rewatches?

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Jason Mraz was an incredible player; really, one of the best the celebrity version of the show has had. But oh my God, losing final round only to learn he had LANDED ON THE MILLION DOLLAR SPOT? And, man, it a very, very, very, very hard answer…BROWNIE PAN?

ADELE ONE NIGHT ONLY: Goodness, it’s great to have Adele back. What an incredible concert. (Though, I promise, we did not need so many random helicopter shots of the sky/scenery while she was singing. We get it.)

Also, as someone who generally hates public proposals, I got emotional for this one. Can you imagine getting engaged and then having Adele sing “Make You Feel My Love” right after? So many emotions.

THE GREAT NORTH: On one hand, working at a pasta-centric restaurant sounds like heaven. On the other, discovering they were washing the uneaten pasta and serving it again sounds like a nightmare that would risk me never wanting to eat pasta again, so…

SUPERMARKET SWEEP: Okay, that dog/roll/Bounty clue was MISLEADING. I don’t blame the team for thinking they meant hot dog bun. At least it was the final clue, I guess.

BOB’S BURGERS: I never really thought about how much of a headache those burgers of the day must be. Forgetting the time it takes to actually come up with varied options (and names!), it’s also buying supplies for a single day, etc. Poor Bob feeling underappreciated for the work he’s putting in.

THE ROOKIE: FINALLY Wesley tells Angela the truth. (Hopefully.) I was worried she wouldn’t find out until it was too late, but maybe if he tells her the truth now, they can actually do something about it.

Nolan’s kidnapping was so messed up (which, like, obviously, but felt more so than normal?!) and also kind of shocking it came just in the middle of the season. But, man, he and Bailey need like a month vacation. At least Tim and Lucy had some fun with their (eventually called off) bet.
