Couch Madness Round 2: 'Closure' (Group 1) - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Couch Madness Round 2: ‘Closure’ (Group 1)

March 28, 2022 by

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

We’re now up to the second round, which will run from Monday, March 28, with the final face-off starting Thursday, March 31.

Next up? “Closure.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the first bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

Couch Madness Round 2 Closure

THE CLOSER (1): The 1998 Tom Selleck-led CBS sitcom.

vs.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (5): “Part 2: Stabler and Benson investigate a sexual assault very similar to one they worked a year and a half ago, whose first-known victim now follows her alleged attacker and reports his activities anonymously to the police, and the rapist’s wife.”

MILLENNIUM (2): “Emma tracks a spree killer and his two accomplices but refuses to accept Frank’s theory that the killer has no deeper motive for the rampage.”

vs.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (3): “Part 1: Benson attempts to help a rape victim who is able to describe her attack but unable to identify her attacker. As time progresses, the woman is even less willing to discuss the crime, claiming to have moved beyond it. Things become even more complicated when Benson and Cassidy spend the night together.”
