Couch Madness Round 2: ‘Rage’ - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Couch Madness Round 2: ‘Rage’

March 28, 2022 by

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

We’re now up to the second round, which will run from Monday, March 28 through Wednesday, March 28, with the final face-off starting Thursday, March 31.

Last up? “Rage.” Keep reading for the bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

Couch Madness Round 2 Rage

LAW & ORDER (1): “A smug African American stock broker who resents other people of his own race is accused of murder. However, he hires a high-profile civil rights attorney, who presents a “black rage” defense.”

vs.

SMALLVILLE (5): “Clark discovers the Green Arrow was shot while trying to save a couple from a carjacking, but Oliver denies he was injured. However, when Oliver starts displaying erratic behavior, Clark and Chloe investigate and discover he is taking a super-drug that causes his body to heal itself but has severe side effects. Lois continues to be oblivious to Oliver’s secret identity and begins to question her growing romance with him over his frequent disappearances. Meanwhile, Lana makes a shocking discovery that she’s pregnant that will impact her relationship with Lex.”

9-1-1 (7): “Athena takes action after her family experiences a traumatic traffic stop; Buck’s suit against the city goes to arbitration; Eddie turns to Lena in his struggles with his anger issues.”

vs.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (3): “Years ago Stabler was unable to get a conviction on a rape-murder case. Now the suspect is held and questioned once again, and Stabler is sure he is guilty. But can he keep his head straight enough to get a confession?”
