Apple TV+ Orders Vince Gilligan-Rhea Seehorn Series

Vince Gilligan has set his next show at Apple TV+, and it has a familiar star: BETTER CALL SAUL’s Rhea Seehorn.

“After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said in a statment. “It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her. And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to BREAKING BAD all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”

Gilligan will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the show, which landed a two-season, straight-to-series order. Jeff Frost and Diane Mercer also executive produce, with Jenn Carroll producing for High Bridge Productions.

In August, Seehorn expressed an interest to reunite with her BETTER CALL SAUL team after the series ended.

“My brain goes more towards how do I configure a way to work with these people again?” she said during the show’s TCA panel. “This quality of writing, this quality of cast, this quality of showrunners and directors. I know Bob [Odenkirk] and I intend to work together, and I’m just going to make him write things for me. And working with Vince and Peter [Gould] and our whole murderer’s row of writers is something that I really hope to manifest.”
