Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

FBI: Oh Maggie. It makes sense she’s going through lingering trauma—and since we missed all of her physical recovery, this was a smart way to dig into her continued recovery while she’s still on-screen—but it broke my heart for her and OA. (And holy [your choice of expletive here], Zeeko Zaki was great as OA was bursting out of his skin as he waited to see how Maggie handled being under cover.)

It’ll make sense if Maggie continues to struggle to find her footing, and I do hope they portray it genuinely, but I will miss the easy banter between OA/Maggie in the meantime. (Also, for the love of my own stress level, can Maggie please go see an FBI-approved doctor, so if she does need to take meds, it won’t jeopardize her job?)

THE VOICE: Well, the weakest performance of the week made it through before America even got the chance to save, so I was really bummed by how the bottom 4 shook out. I’m particularly sad for Kate Kalvach, who was such a pro amidst tech issues and sounded great. Alas.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: I’m sorry, Vo’s friend was awful. If Vo hadn’t helped, her nephew might have been killed—or gotten himself in so much trouble the subsequent consequences would have been a whole lot worse. How dare she take it out on Vo?

(I wish I loved the Scott storyline more. I found myself wishing he was with the team rather than off on his own, especially since Vo did need as much support as possible.)

NEW AMSTERDAM: Good lord, I had no clue a bequest department in a hospital was a thing, but oy that seems wildly dangerous. I get this ended up being a wash—the house that led Max to discover it existed was signed over to the hospital before the patient showcased signs of dementia, the funds would go to treat vets, and the vet son had the offer to hear about the final years of his mother’s life—but I wish Max had set more things firmly in motion to really make sure no one at the hospital was tempted to exploit loopholes for selfish reasons.

And Wilder turning down Max for a date was…unexpected, but needed. Even if she does eventually say yes, she deserves more context for him asking her out. She saw his relationship with Helen and knows what losing her did to him. It’s going to be hard to convince her it’s not just a rebound situation, and Wilder deserves better.

FBI: MOST WANTED: It’s crazy the scheduling worked so this was another FBI show exploring trauma. In this case, I’m glad they’re not forgetting Hana’s kidnapping. (But as cute as that end scene was, I wish it hadn’t felt so dismissive toward therapy and medicine. I know it didn’t say it shouldn’t be used, but sometimes trauma can’t be worked out by doing something like hitting golf balls.)

Oh, what the ever-loving…Becca was 100000 levels of messed up. She might not be the worst villain we’ve come across this season, but she was terrifying and absolutely screwed up Jake in ways he might not even realize yet.
