THE SIMPSONS, THE EQUALIZER, BOB'S BURGERS

THE SIMPSONS: Homer is stunned by his feelings of rage and resentment when Grampa becomes a doting stepfather to his girlfriend’s quirky young son.  Lisa and Bart throw the ultimate slumber party in the all-new “Step Brother From the Same Planet” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, November 20 (8:00-8:31 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Guest voice Melissa McCarthy. THE SIMPSONS © 2022 by 20th Television.

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: This was a bittersweet episode, but I really enjoyed it. Homer getting into a war with a kid? Entirely on brand. (And their fight in the car made me laugh out loud.) And of course how Abe treated Calvin and Homer was about him…but I’m glad Homer got a little bit of peace. (It’s also incredible that THE SIMPSONS writer Carolyn Omine noted Melissa McCarthy—who voiced Calvin—was the first female celebrity guest star to play a boy. 34 seasons in and they’re still hitting new milestones.)

Bart and Lisa’s sleepover looked exhausted, but also like so much fun. (Lisa’s plans for a mashed potato bar?? PLEASE AND THANKS.)

THE EQUALIZER: Well, Delilah’s secret training lasted approximately 5 seconds. I’m glad for her sake she won’t have to live a double life, but it feels like mess is about to follow.

Also, Dante and Robyn are realllllllllllly toeing the line of their flirtation…

[For more on the episode, here’s what Laya DeLeon Hayes shared.]

THE GREAT NORTH: The kids quickly going all-in to enjoy the rich privilege of the yacht was funny and also relatable. (No, no one wants to be a terrible person, but of course you’re going to enjoy the hell out of that experience. And probably indulge in a few too many desserts.)

And…good luck to Dick Chateau, because next time he needs the family’s help, there’s almost no way they’ll willing do it, plus he set the standards for transportation waaaaaaay up there.

BOB’S BURGERS: I’m both incredible impressed and not at all shocked Louise broke the yeti trying to hit three balls into the holes at once to make it do multiple dancing functions. And poor Linda trying to get the hole in one and it just…not working out the way she wanted.

FAMILY GUY: Off-screen, it’s impressive it was the 400th episode. As for the episode itself, I was underwhelmed. The Peter storyline was rough for me, and the Stewie stuff was…fine?
