NEW AMSTERDAM boss David Schulner has known how the medical drama will end since season 4—after his family and several members of team all pitched him the same conclusion.

But when it came to the actors, “we learn just a little bit before we shoot it,” NEW AMSTERDAM star Tyler Labine (Iggy) tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “So I think going into it, we weren’t trying to sway anything. We know that David’s got a clear idea of how he wants to end the show. But we had hopes; we all had hopes.”

“I would say that, for the most part, we’re all really happy with how the show was wrapping up,” he says. “It was surprising in some ways…it does answer questions, but in a very unique way, that…left me feeling more hopeful than I felt for a long time with the show, without them spoon-feeding me happiness.”

Plus, with the series about to wrap up on Tuesday, January 17, Labine looks back at its run, and the influence his real-life history had on Iggy’s character development.
