LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT’s penultimate episode of season 24 delivered two twisted cases, as well as a couple of personal reveals.

A Rollisi baby is on the way!

When the squad started investigating a rape in a busy Times Square hotel, they were shocked to discover a linked rape nearby…just hours after the initial attack. With the case expanding, Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) convinced Carisi (Peter Scanavino) to investigate leads with her.

As they went to Staten Island—no one tell Mama Carisi her son was in the neighborhood—Carisi admired a house for sale.

After Olivia jokingly asked if he brought his checkbook, Carisi deflected. “This place is gonna be a little tight for the five of us,” he said.

“You mean the four of us,” Liv corrected. At Carisi’s smile and silence, Olivia realized what he was trying to tell her—Amanda (Kelli Giddish) was pregnant. “Oh, Carisi! Congratulations! This is how you tell me?!”

“Don’t tell Amanda I told you, she’s going to kill me,” he replied. “She wanted to tell you herself.”

“Oh, Carisi,” Olivia gushed. “I’m so happy for you.”

Later, Carisi admitted he was worried about his impending biological fatherhood. “I know that I’m gonna be a great father,” he said. He pointed to the first diaper change as something he had never experienced: “I’ve been a father to Billie. I’ve been a father to Jesse. But I’ve never lived through anything like that.”

“You’re doubting yourself,” Olivia acknowledged. She tried to get him to take a breath: “Stop litigating yourself in your head. This baby is going to test you, for sure, and not just with diapers. But if there’s one thing I know about you is that you’re going to show up every day, like you did here. Like you do in court. And you’re going to do the work. And nobody gets worse with practice…you’ve got this”

Muncy (Molly Burnett) finally nabbed Elias (Adam Petchel).

After a woman found a man trapped in a cage underground in the middle of the woods, Muncy was immediately suspicious Elias had struck again.

Though Olivia cautioned her to take it slow, Muncy focused on Elias and was able to prove the welding in this new cage matched Elias’ past work.

Muncy and Churlish (Jasmine Batchelor) track Elias to a church, where they tried to place him under arrest.

“Look, I lost my temper with you,” Muncy said. “At the grocery store. And in court. You’re right. I hurt you. But I’m not here to do it again. What I did was bad, and I’m sorry. But you did something bad, too, didn’t you?”

“What do you want?” Elias asked.

“We want to help you,” Muncy insisted. She got him to drop the hammer he was wielding at them and took him into the station house.

At the One-Six, Fin (Ice T) and Velasco (Octavio Pisano) officially get Elias’ confession, but he is able to break through the interrogation room and attacked Muncy. She’s hurt, but okay.

“It’s okay not to be okay,” Fin said. Muncy brushed it off, but Fin pressed on: “Your temper in court. All that stuff that went down with Velasco. It’s been a hell of a year.”

Muncy still insisted she’s been through worse…and acknowledged she felt bad for Elias. Fin, however, insisted she ultimately helped Elias. Muncy, for her part, thanked Fin…while she was in trouble at the church, she thought of him telling her about the policeman’s prayer.

Elliot (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia reunited.

With the rape-for-hire case tying to the active OCCB case, Olivia met up with Elliot—their first time seeing each other since their moment in her kitchen back in January.

“Captain, it’s good to see you,” he said.

“You, too,” she replied.

Elliot asked how Noah was, and Olivia insisted he was good…”Everything’s good.”

“And you?” Elliot asked.

Olivia paused. “You know, the last time we saw each other, that was a bad time for me,” she acknowledged.

“Worse timing for me,” Elliot quipped.

“I know you were just trying to make me feel safe,” Olivia said. “I think we both felt that.”

“Just not the right moment,” Elliot said.

And then the duo got down to business and Elliot filled her in on the revenge-for-hire scheme they had been investigating.

“I’ve heard of murder-for-hire; I’ve never heard of rape-for-hire,” Olivia said.

“Revenge-for-hire,” Elliot replied.

“That’s why I called you,” Olivia said. “I think you and I are working the same case from opposite ends.”

“Okay, partner,” Elliot replied with a smile.

Olivia took another moment, before she smiled back and shook her head. “Okay.”
