Inside the FRIENDSGIVING-Themed Warner Bros. Studio Tour

November 29, 2024 by

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood is wrapping up its special FRIENDSGIVING-themed Studio Tour (with the final tour occurring on Saturday, November 30), and as someone who has taken variations of the WB tour over a half-dozen times over the years: This was worth the trip.

When you first arrive, the lobby area had a special 30th anniversary display with show costumes, photo opportunities, and Chandler and Joey’s Pat the Dog statue.

Once checked in, participants in the FRIENDSGIVING experience get a special badge and watched a (largely) Thanksgiving-themed mini-introduction including scenes from FRIENDS, THE BIG BANG THEORY, CALL ME KAT, FULL HOUSE, and other Warner Bros. shows.

The tour itself was largely what you’d get on a non-FRIENDSGIVING day, though a heavier emphasis on any FRIENDS-related filming that was done around the studio. Plus, there was FRIENDS trivia, with prizes to anyone who could answer the questions correctly.

The tour took us into Stage 24, which was home to FRIENDS for season 2-10. (FULL HOUSE filmed there during FRIENDS’ first season; an upcoming Netflix series is now filming there.)

After the 90-minute tour around the studio, fans arrived at the buffet…which was set up in the WB’s “park,” an area that is frequently utilized for filming—including “The One Where Phoebe Runs.”

Like any good FRIENDSGIVING, there was also an incredible amount of food: Rachel’s Buttery Biscuits; Phoebe’s Sauteed Garlic & Toasted Almond Green Beans; Vegan Mashed Potatoes; Tribbiani “How You Doin” Mac & Cheese; Grandma Geller’s Homemade Soyrizo Stuffing; Joey’s Sweet Candy Yams; Phoebe’s Tossed Garden Salad; Chandler’s Honey Dijon Glazed Country Ham; Monica’s Slow Cooked Turkey Basted with Bourbon Molasses Glaze; “We Were on a Break” Cranberry Sauce; and (unnamed) turkey gravy.

The tables—and the drink station—also had show-themed centerpieces consisting of items for sale at the WB shop.

Fans could also take a photo with a replica of the iconic couch—with the fountain from the show’s opening credits the background—during the meal break.

Then the tour became self-guided, as fans could linger in a few stages to get deeper insight into how films and shows are made—with booths to put your voice into shows (including FRIENDS) via ADR, a deeper look into visual effects, plus plenty of props and costumes from Warner Bros. long history—plus take photos on “sets” like FRIENDS’ Central Perk.

And, of course, even the gift shop had more FRIENDS costumes, too.

All in all? A pretty perfect FRIENDSGIVING. (And we didn’t even have to name all 50 states to get our meal.)
