“Riptide” – After three Customs Officers are shot dead in a cargo heist, the team entrusts OA’s old army buddy Clay to help them determine if it was an inside job, on FBI, Tuesday, Dec. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). FBI’s OA (Zeeko Zaki) is put between a rock and a hard place when three customs officers are killed in a robbery in the fall finale (airing Tuesday, December 17)…and his friend, Clay (Guy Lockard), is entangled in the case.

“The case gets really personal, when, out of nowhere, my buddy that we’ve met in episode 2 and 3 sort of pops up along the way,” Zaki previews to Give Me My Remote. “Some of the concerns from me about his virtue and his line of work get questioned. And it’s really interesting to see how far OA will go trusting somebody with his life because they saved it. And then we see how that plays out.”

For OA, he has to figure out how to juggle his loyalty to Clay, whom he previously served with in the Army, with his devotion to his present-day FBI team.

“This definitely is a story about the balance between that,” Zaki notes. “It’s nice to see that OA can have other priorities besides work and other loyalties outside of work. But seeing him fold them together, and then ultimately how he decides to balance them in the end, might not be what everyone’s expecting.”

By his side is his partner, Maggie (Missy Peregrym), who recently went through her own turmoil: She opted to give up her guardianship of Ella, who she had been taking care of since the girl’s mother—Maggie’s friend—was killed.

“I think that that choice that she made really just shows her dedication to the job and to our partnership,” Zaki says. “So for me, the trust that I have—and I think we have with each other—to, so far, always kind of choose each other and to always show up for each other is now getting to play out with some higher stakes. And it’s really fun to see.”

FBI, Tuesdays, 8/7c, CBS
