CHICAGO P.D.’s Patrick John Flueger Shares His Hopes for Burzek’s Wedding

With CHICAGO P.D.’s Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) set to finally walk down the aisle later this season, the conversation has turned to what kind of wedding the duo will have.

“We will have the wedding—it’s been fun to plan,” CHICAGO P.D. showrunner Gwen Sigan previously told Give Me My Remote. “I think we are settling on probably something a bit middle ground: Not a courthouse wedding, but not something gigantic. That feels like them, and feels simple and grounded, but also has all the people they love there. And so that’s probably a season finale-type [event].”

But if the actors have their way, they’re hoping for a destination wedding. “In the beginning of episode 10, there’s a lot of talk of Belize,” Flueger points out to GMMR, echoing what Squerciati shared late last year. “It’s a lot of talk of [the] wedding should be in Belize. So if you want to know what Paddy thinks, Paddy thinks we should have this wedding in Belize. And we should take all of my friends on the crew and all of my friends in the cast. And maybe I’ll just tell my actual family to come meet us down there. We can make it a whole thing in Belize.” 

“So that’s what I hope for, even though I know that that’s ridiculous and a pipe dream,” he continues. “But print that. Let’s see what happens.”
