Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
THE MASKED SINGER: Okay, I’ll admit the clues for Honey Pot threw me—the voice certainly didn’t sound like Steve Harvey, but I was on that train based on the clue package. I wonder how much that will be a pattern this season…intentional misdirection.
WILD CARDS: Undercover! Had to dance! Quasi-admitted their feelings! We love WILD CARDS.
It’s funny this was the second episode I’ve watched this week where a horse was targeted for murder (one more and it’s officially a trend), but this was an entirely different feel. And I love watching Max and Ellis try so, so, so hard to not be drawn in by each other, personally and professionally, and still not be able to really resist.
(Martin Sheen’s quasi-cameo—feels too short to call it a guest spot, but maybe just too long to be a cameo?—was absolutely charming. I really hope he returns later in the season. But if not, a completely delightful appearance.)
THE FLOOR: Oh my goodness, the female country singers category was painful to watch. (Yes, I knew virtually all of them.) The SNL cast was less painful, but how do you not know Tina Fey or Amy Poehler?!?
Brian versus Logan in the films category felt like it was a trap since she made it clear she didn’t know films, but, nope, it was exactly like she said; really the only way to make it quasi-dramatic was the reveal she was notoriously bad at knowing films.
(And, aw, it was sweet the mom was crying over her daughter winning a round.)
