DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND, DOC, THE ROOKIE

THE ROOKIE – “Wildfire” – Nyla remains suspicious of Liam Glasser as a wildfire erupts, causing chaos in the city. Meanwhile, James tries to help a friend, and Seth makes a costly mistake, putting two of their own in danger. TUESDAY, FEB. 25 ( 9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on ABC. (Disney/Mike Taing)

Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

ST. DENIS MEDICAL: Oh my God, it was brilliant that they used Joyce’s code to get the uninsured patients the testing they need. (Though good luck to Alex and Dr. Ron if/when this documentary runs.) And the talent show was fun; I’ve been looking forward to that since before the series started, and it lived up to the hype.

KITCHEN NIGHTMARES: I cannot imagine the terror of having Gordon critique your British-themed pub. But also HOW DO YOU BUY A RESTAURANT WITH NO EXPERIENCE? They’re so lucky it seems like it’s working out now.

FBI: Oh, God, poor Scola is absolutely going to be dealing with more survivor’s guilt after this. He’s also had a really rough/emotional 2025 so far between this and finally getting his brother identified. I do hope he gets a break at some point, for his own sake.

DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND: Cutting contestants along the way, to their face, was brutal. But, also, Dickson, trusting Lete was dumb. (It’s crazy that David and Parvati made it back to camp with under five seconds to spare. They really only just made it.)

It obviously worked out, but I am kind of shocked Parvati put La Shell up versus Dickson. La Shell made it clear if she won Dickson was gone, which would have put Parvati in danger (for breaking her promise and losing someone who would protect her). If she put up Dickson, La Shell might have trusted her, and allowed for a bit more protection. But it worked out since La Shell shockingly, made a bad deal.

C.K. freaking out and getting a hug from Joe was weird. And does not bode well for the next episode.

DOC: Michael was correct about Amy’s relationship with Jake actually being inappropriate, but clearly in the wrong about his motivations. (We’ll see how things go with Amy and Jake disclosing.) I do love the new side of Amy and Richard’s friendship/working relationship, but I fear it’s about to entirely implode given the mess they had going on before her accident. But, hey, at least Amy got her test results back and passed.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Given what they do for their jobs, I’m glad Wes at least has a suspicion something is going on. And thank goodness Quinn trusted Vo enough to go to her for help…but what is Vo going to do now?

THE ROOKIE: Well, admittedly, this was tough to watch as someone based in Los Angeles. It was obviously filmed well before our fires, but…still not easy.

I am guessing this is the end of the Liam storyline for now, maybe (we know villains on this show don’t just go away), but holy moly was Liam deranged. Everything he did was tinged with horror film vibes and next-level evil.

The Seth of it all was infuriating and honestly made me even more confused about what’s going on with him. He’s wildly incompetent and nearly got Tim and Lucy killed…and then lied about it. So, is he just someone who cannot accept blame and will do whatever he can to protect himself versus intentionally manipulative? Or…?

I did feel pretty awful for Tim and Lucy in this episode. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Of course I want them back together ASAP. And the love is very much there, something Tim clearly wanted her to know if they were going to die. I’m glad she acknowledged she knew he loved her, too. But their relationship also ended because he was in a dark place and he’s working to get himself better. I’m glad we’re seeing that; I’m glad he’s following her lead, even when it hurts. (I’m also intrigued by what Lucy’s career aspirations mean for her and them going forward.)

Also, poor Nyla. I was thinking it was going to be hard enough for her to hear about James being kissed by another woman, but now he’s been shot. This is going to be absolutely brutal on her; I’m worried.

(I laughed at the casual way we got Baby Wopez’s name. Also, during a fire-related emergency, why is Nolan bothering Bailey at work for no reason?!)

THE IRRATIONAL: A fun episode. I appreciated the twist on a twist and it worked well. I do kind of wish it hadn’t been set up around the notion of Alec retelling this story via an interview, though, because it didn’t feel necessary here. The episode itself was enough.

Also: Simon and Phoebe?!

FBI: MOST WANTED: A solid case. The show has really handled the cast missing episodes well where you don’t feel glaring absences just being one regular is gone, which sounds basic, but is really, really not an easy feat on all shows.

I know Hana cares about Ethan and I’m glad she’s being supportive. I just really, really hope this doesn’t all back around and harm her…
