Former CHICAGO FIRE star Eamonn Walker is returning to the NBC drama for a guest spot in April, sources have confirmed to Give Me My Remote.

Walker, who portrayed Firehouse 51 boss Wallace Boden, will appear in the Wednesday, April 16 episode, “Post-Mortem.” Walker starred in the first 12 seasons of the series, with his character accepting a promotion in the season 12 finale.

In the hour, “Boden has been tasked by Commissioner Grissom to run a post-incident analysis following a house fire that collapse with a firefighter inside.”

“We’re so excited to have our beloved Chief Boden back, and the episode, titled ‘Post-Mortem,’ is a thrill ride unlike any we’ve done before,” CHICAGO FIRE boss Andrea Newman told The Hollywood Reporter. “Told with flashbacks and unique POVs, Chief Boden leads our team on a search to discover the how, who and why of a fierce firefight that ended in disaster.”

Update (Wednesday, April 2): Watch a promo for the hour…
