LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME: Elliot and Olivia Reunite in New Season 5 Promo

After nearly two years—give or take a handful of missed calls and one phone exchange—LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT’s Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) and LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME’s Elliot (Christopher Meloni) will finally appear onscreen together in the second episode of ORGANIZED CRIME’s upcoming fifth season. (Season 5 debuts on Peacock on Thursday, April 17 with two episodes. The show shifts to once-a-week releases for the remainder of the ten-episode order.)

Meloni, who co-wrote the hour, previously acknowledged to People that “[Olivia] Benson will be with OC for a moment there. I’m going to have an opportunity to…Hopefully, uncover, peel away a little bit more of the onion or uncover a little more depth of feeling between them.”

In the new promo, Elliot is shown battered in the aftermath of his car being hit by a semi-trailer truck. In a montage, doctors are working on the detective; his boss, Ayanna (Danielle Moné Truitt), is watching over him concerned; Elliot is facing an ominous light at the end of the hallway in one direction and a bunny in the other; and Olivia, calling Elliot’s name, is at his hospital bedside.

In addition to its Peacock debut, the season 5 premiere will have a special one-night NBC airing on Thursday, April 17 at 10/9c. NBC also released a logline for the hour, “Lost Highway”: “Stabler goes undercover as a big rig driver to expose an international smuggling ring; as he settles into his new identity, he gets to know the ‘working girls’ and a pattern of disappearances emerges.” 

The series also stars Rick Gonzalez, Ainsley Seiger, and new series regular Dean Norris. New season 5 guest stars include Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Joseph Lee, and Olivia Thirlby. Returning guest stars include Ellen Burstyn, Allison Siko, and Nicky Torchia.
