A week after CBS ordered new drama EINSTEIN to series, the network has made the decision to delay the series to the 2026-27 season, Give Me My Remote has confirmed. (The network has SHERIFF COUNTRY, CIA, BOSTON BLUE, and DMV among the new titles already slated for the 2025-26 season.)

In the Matthew Gray Gubler-led series, “Brilliant but directionless, the great grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve her most puzzling cases.”

Gubler will play Lewis Einstein, “the great grandson of Albert Einstein, is a popular professor at Princeton…when he actually shows up for class. Irreverent and misguided, Lewis’ genius and famous name weighs heavily on him but using his gift to help solve homicides may- finally- offer his life some direction and purpose.” He’s joined by Rosa Salazar as Veronica “Ronni” Paris. Ronni “is a Detective Inspector for the New Jersey State Police, who went into law enforcement after the death of her husband. Sharp and disciplined, Ronni demands a lot from her colleagues and even more from herself and feels conflicted about working with Professor Einstein.”

Andy Breckman created the series, whose pilot was directed by Randy Zisk. Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia, and Laura Beetz also serve as executive producers.
