FOUND: Parker Daniel Queenan Previews ‘Missing While Independent’

On the Thursday, May 1 episode of FOUND, Margaret (Kelli Williams) and Jamie (Parker Daniel Queenan) are drawn into a case of a missing woman with Down Syndrome.

For Jamie, who is still finding his footing after being kidnapped and misled for years, “He’s slowly working himself into the team and becoming integrated within the way that they go about this sort of teamwork,” Queenan tells Give Me My Remote. “The whole idea with Jamie, that I understood…each one of the people at M & A has had some kind of previous trauma that they repurpose into helping other people. Which I think is always a step in learning how to grow yourself—learning how to help someone else.”

“So I think Jamie is really interested in the idea of looking at people [who need his help],” he continues. “The show, they spotlight stories that are marginalized, and stories that are not sort of spoken on as much. And so I think Jamie sees somebody with special needs that isn’t really acknowledged or appreciated or taken seriously, and…he relates with that, and it helps him become closer to the team in those ways.”

What’s also helped settle Jamie in with the team? It finally being firmly established that he actually is Margaret’s long-missing son.

Though viewers were kept on a roller coaster—and the team had their doubts—Queenan was tipped off early on.

“When I showed up on set the first day, I was told by our showrunner [Nkechi Okoro Carroll] pretty much everything. She pulled me aside and she told me the whole story of what happened—things that the audience would continue to find out like through episodes to come,”  Queenan shares. “But nuances and like smaller things and how things came about, everything [else] was episode to episode. But as far as the chunk of ‘This is your character. This is what happened. This is the backstory and everything,’ I mean, she didn’t really leave much to be desired. I essentially knew everything off of the bat. Which was nice; it’s very helpful.”
