ON CALL will not return for a second season on Prime Video, sources have confirmed to Give Me My Remote. However, the series is being shopped to other streamers.
The series, a half-hour drama from Wolf Entertainment, starred Troian Bellisario as Officer Traci Harmon, “a seasoned twelve year veteran and training officer with a strong moral compass that has defined her approach to policing, even if that puts her at odds with new law enforcement policies.” Brandon Larracuente plays Alex Diaz, “an ambitious rookie who grapples with holding onto his optimistic outlook as he realizes the challenges he’ll face in today’s climate.” The cast also included Eriq La Salle as Sergeant Lasman, Lori Loughlin as Lieutenant Bishop, and Rich Ting as Sergeant Koyama. (LaSalle, who is a Wolf Entertainment vet, also served as an executive producer and directed multiple episodes.)
The series was co-created by Tim Walsh and Elliot Wolf. Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski also served as executive producers.
Earlier this year, Elliot Wolf shared with GMMR that the creative team had “a lot of great ideas for season 2 that we’re super excited about.”
“Yeah, just deepen their characters,” Walsh added. “Open them up a little bit more, keep exploring them through the job.”
Deadline was first to report on the show’s Prime Video cancellation. Vulture’s Josef Adalian first reported the show being shopped to different platforms in April.
