Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: The drone challenge made me laugh out loud, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the grand prize. Ditto the football thrower…so skilled, but I don’t know how it’s an act beyond this audition.

This was the second week in a row where I didn’t think the Golden Buzzer went to the correct act. I don’t always super love when singers get them on AGT given how many avenues those artists do have in the reality TV sphere, but Girish and the Chronicles and Cole Swensen were actually my acts of the night.

(I laughed at Howie’s Clippers joke. But, seriously, how does the dance group get to use an NBA team’s name? I’m shocked they’re allowed to utilize it outside of the actual game performances.)

LOVE ISLAND USA: Well, it feels clear how the producers are trying to manipulate/replicate some things from season 6 already. So far, my early favorite duo is Olandria and Taylor, but we’ll see how that works out.

I have mixed feelings about how Huda is handling her secret. On one hand, she absolutely has every right to protect herself and her daughter. It’s no one’s business until she chooses to tell them. On the other, she’s now told two women and teased she has a Big Secret to Jeremiah. If you don’t want to tell anyone, just don’t say anything! Don’t hint about it. (Huda and Jeremiah also feel like a disaster waiting to happen, so we’ll see how that goes, in general.)

DESTINATION X: One of the things that’s bothering me a bit about the show is the clue inconsistency. If I saw Jennifer Aniston and Eva Longoria as clues, I’d think about their own origins, not assume it meant Jen+Eva for Geneva. Ditto the Lakers jersey with Kobe’s number (but JDM’s name)…he spent years in Italy, which is what I would think of before I thought “lake.” (I realize that one may be more niche.)

Ugh, I did feel terrible for Jonah, though. And Mack only being 3 miles away was wild—that was so close.
